About us....

Christopher Robin Day Nurseries opened its first nursery in May 1986 in Woking, Surrey.

Since then the company has continued, by controlled growth, to develop into one of the leading day nursery groups in the South East. The nurseries expanded at a relatively slow pace in order to ensure that each nursery continued to deliver childcare to the exacting standards for which we are renowned.

All of our nurseries exceed the new National Standards requirements set by the Early Years Directorate branch of Ofsted for space, staff qualifications and staff ratios. We believe this contributes to the overall atmosphere in the nursery, which is relaxed, homely and full of fun. All the nurseries have lovely, well-equipped gardens so the children can play and explore within the safe confines of the nursery grounds.

The nurseries within the group have been opened in a geographical location that enables everyone to feel part of the larger Christopher Robin Day Nurseries family and where constant attention to detail and support can be maintained.

The nurseries have excellent inspection reports from Social Services and Ofsted.

In 2010, the Cranleigh nursery was awarded with the Surrey County Council's Early Years Quality Assurance Scheme mark. The nursery was one of a select group invited to take part in the pilot scheme and is now one of only 18 nurseries in Surrey to have successfully gained this award. Aims and objectives

When providing quality childcare we know that the choice of people who look after the children is of the utmost importance. Staff at Christopher Robin are chosen not only for their qualifications and experience but also for their affinity with children, their enthusiasm and their commitment to providing a high quality professional service.

We see the care of the children as a partnership between parents and the nursery team.
Parents are always welcome in the nursery and we hope you will view us as part of your extended family.

There are many informal events during the course of the year where we can get to know each other better, e.g. Sports Day, Christmas Concert, Summer Barbecue, and Christmas social evenings. We have a number of fundraising days and our children regularly toddle and get on their tricycles to raise money for many good causes! Additionally there are parents' evenings where time is set aside for each parent to discuss their child's progress on an individual basis. Naturally there is daily feedback both of a verbal and a written kind and appointments can be made for longer discussions at any time. In our experience, the more information we share the better the care we can offer.

We believe one of the factors that sets us aside from many other nurseries and contributes to the excellence of care at Christopher Robin is our preference for smaller groups. All nurseries require a high staff/child ratio, but we believe the overall size of the group is equally important. In each age band, 0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years, groups are deliberately kept small. Large groups can be overwhelming for a small child and the smaller groups help to create a sense of security and belonging.
